Dogs Day 2018

The board of our country group did not miss this years invitation to the DAY OF THE DOG 2018.
Once again, we could use the wonderful grounds and buildings of the Cherry Farm for this event, and we once again relied on the help of family members and other neighborhood dog friends to plan and prepare. After a nightly thunderstorm, we had only sunshine on the day of action, satisfied guests and a great atmosphere.

Our second chairwoman, Mrs. Heike Albert took over the welcome speech, then Mr. Stephan Gringard, even RR owner, entertained with the varied program.
People interested in the breed could find out all about the origin, the standard, the nature, the characteristics and the suitability of our particular breed of dog. Our board member Mrs. Marleen Reidel had prepared a very informative, honest and well-illustrated PowerPoint presentation. Afterwards all questions of the listeners were answered by DZRR breeders.
Many small pavilions were set up on the extensive outdoor area, inviting visitors to inform, try out, donate and buy. Veterinarian Thomas Nolte gave useful advice and practical tips on the subject of first aid to the dog in emergency situations and our board member Andreas Nitsch measured visitor dogs against a donation.
Mr.Jan Fuhlrott presented the dogscootering with his white sheepdogs and dog trainer Meike Driesner enthused with her training program. She prepared a circuit training with individual stations and invited to participate. Even the little visitors had a lot of fun trying out the course.
As in the past year, Vicar Andreas Mockenhaupt of St. Dionysus Church in Elsen took care of all four-legged friends and with a prayer and the request for the protection of animals from all dangers and preservation of health ended the solemn blessing.
The large, donated, sweet and spicy cake buffet was plentiful, hot and cold drinks were also offered.
With the help of the exhibitors, pet-friendly supporters, the numerous guests and finally the DZRR (who, for example, also paid for the helper party), this year the donation of over 1000 € could be handed over to the animal shelter Paderborn.

Thanks to family Voß, all club and board colleagues and all friends with whose help this DAY OF DOG was so successful.
